AeroTag 2.4GHz – Active RFID

AeroTag Active RFID Reader – 2.4GHz

The 2.45 GHz Active Reader is used in systems, which integrate the active tags. It is built around innovative 0.18µm CMOS circuits, with very high density of integration. This technological breakthrough allows for a low cost, and size constrained design.
The reader can be fitted with a standard rubber-duck antenna, like on the picture, for 100-150 ft communication range. Expanding the reading distance and shaping the RF field can be done with sector antennas provided by Bioenable. A Standard RS232 or RS485 interface is provided. Other versions with interfaces to TCP/IP WiFi/TJ45 or GPRS are also available.
In Its basic configuration the anti-collision rate is in the range of 80-100 tags per second. One single Reader can operate thousands of tags.
Several topologies are available, from simple start networks to complex clusters, for operation in dense controllermode. A software demo application is available together with the full command set description. The filmware of the controller is expandable in order to protect the customers investments.Health And safety is a major consideration. The active Reader is believed to be totally harmless to other adjacent electronic equipment, and to any consideration of health and safety.

Active RFID 2.4GHz Tag

The 2.4MHz Active Tag is used to identify and/or perform micro-localisation of items or individuals. It is built around innovative 0.18 µm low power CMOS integrated circuits. This high scale of integration allows for very compact and low-power performance. The unique battery lifetime is achieved without sacrificing the reading and writing range. The controller manages the configuration of the transmission mode.
Water resistant packages IP65 are available : The reading and writing range of upto 300ft in free space is achieved with the AeroTag Active Reader. The anticollision mechanism allows for thousands of Tags to be simultaneously present in the range of one single Reader.

The unique transmission features make this tag useful also in difficult environment, where non friendly RF material is present: metal surroundings, concrete walls, water proximity… The alteration of the transmission remains usually very acceptable given the harsh conditions in which the Active tag is operating.
The multifunction version allows for read and write operation, mute and wake-up of Tags, and modification of the signalisation rate. The mute function is particularly well suited to the air transport. All those functions are available from the same reader without any hardware modification.

Applications :

  • Access control
  • Air cargo – ULD
  • Logistics
  • Item management
  • Anti-counterfeiting
  • Micro-localisation
  • Security solutions
  • People Monitoring
  • Pallet Tracking
  • Container Idetification
  • Sensor networks
  • Medical healthcare

Active RFID Tags are commonly used to transmit information without wires. Active tags transmit info to Active RFID Readers. A wide variety of electronic devices such as television, radio, and wireless telephone use RFID Tags to transmit or receive information. Active Tags perform better than RFID Passive Tags. AeroTag Active RFID tags use modern wireless technologies to help your business track inventory and equipment. An AeroTag Active RFID kit is composed of an active RFID reader, a standard Windows based PC, and active tags or RFID labels. The RFID active tag is attached or placed inside of the equipment or inventory. AeroTag Active RFID tags contain micro electronic circuits that store product information. The Active tags transmit this information to a remote Active RFID reader. The goal of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) system is to generate data that can be acted on to boost efficiency, cut costs or provide other business benefits. Active RFID, which has a power source in active tag, is becoming a rapidly growing ‘sleeper’ technology. Active RFID Tags will create a competitive advantage in most of the industries.
