The Temperature Sensor Active Tag is used to idetify and perform temperature monitoring of items. The sensor is separated from the main body of the Active Tag. It is built around innovative 0.18um low-power CMOS integrated circuits. This high scale of integration allows for very compact and low-power performance. The unique battery lifetime is achieved without sacrificing the reading range. A reading range of (100-150) ft in free space is achieved with the Active RFID Reader, with anti-collision rate of more than 1000 Tags per minute.
The unique transmission features make this Tag useful also in difficult environment, where non-friendly RF material is present: metal surroundings of refrigerators, concrete walls, water proximity… The alteration of the transmission remains usually very acceptable given the harsh conditions in which the Active Tag is operating.
The sensor monitors the temperature in real time with interval of one minute. The Tag sends the temperature information every 20 seconds together with its unique personal idetification. The sensor is placed 8″ away from the Tag for remote temperature monitoring. The temperature sensing is not affected by the presence of the Tag, nor is the electronics of the Tag affected by the sensed temperature.
